Hello!

Here is your reminder of Club events occurring in the next few days.

Coming Soon....

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The Annual General Meeting of the Great Pyrenees Club of Southern Ontario will be held on Sunday, September 26, 2010 starting at 11:00 a.m. at Lakefront Promenade, Area A, in Mississauga, Ontario. (see directions below)

Following the meeting, there will be a Bar-B-Que and Corn Roast, hosted by Sandra Young and Don Reid – BRING YOUR APPETITES. Cost will be $10.00 per person.

Area A is sheltered with room for 75 people, so we will have lots of room for our dogs as well as ourselves. Seating is picnic tables and benches only, so feel free to bring your own chairs if you wish. Washrooms are located at the shelter and there are outdoor taps for fresh water for our four-legged friends.

There are several areas for walking the dogs after lunch – each are of varying length so you have a choice of what to see and where to go. Some are out onto a peninsula into the lake, some around the bay and some are through is wood areas. Because we are on the water, it is usually a few degrees cooler, so bring a jacket or sweater, just in case. (Not sure if this is really applicable in view of the hot summer that we have been having here in Toronto, but thought I would mention it just in case there is a turnover in the weather).

Because the area is reserved for the Club for the day, if you want to come early or stay late, explore out waterfront and bring your own picnic dinner, you are more than welcome to do so.

This is a great time to “Meet and Greet”, catch up on what is going on in the Club, visit with friends and make new ones. If you are not a member of the Club and want to find out more about us – you are more than welcome to attend as well.

We will be selling our new Great Pyr Clothing and Items including our new Sterling Silver Pendant. Plan to check out the Great Pyr Quilt that was donated by Nancy Gilbert.

DIRECTIONS

Lakefront Promenade Park, Area A is easy to get to. From the Q.E.W. exit at Cawthra Road, turning south and follow Cawthra to Lakeshore Rad. Turn Right onto Cawthra and the second street on your left is Hampton. Turn left on Hampton and this takes you right into the Parking Lot of the Pavilion. If you are travelling on the 401 from the East, take 427 south to Q.E.W to Cawthra. If you are travelling from the West, there is no exit to Cawthra so please make your way to whatever exit is convenient for you to get to the Q.E.W.

LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING YOU IN SEPTEMBER!!
