Welcome to the Private Members Only Section of GPCSO WebPull up a comfy chair and have a cup of coffee. You are in the private members only section of the GPCSO website. Here we will provide information about club activities that are not for public consumption but that you, our members, will have full access to. This area of our site will evolve to meet the needs of the club and you, our members. DID YOU KNOW...As a member of Great Pyrenees Club of Southern Ontario you have an enormous opportunity to make a difference to the quality of life for Great Pyrs the world over? It is true... and here is why.Every month 1000 people visit our site looking for information about Great Pyrs. And that number continues to grow month by month. Your club’s web site is being recognized as a source of valuable information about the Great Pyrenees breed and is visited by folks from over 45 countries and growing. Our web site has been acknowledged as a source of factual, objective, honest information about Great Pyrenees Mountain Dogs and is quickly becoming a recognized source of trusted information about the breed. Pyrs have too much hair for me, which is the only reason I've never owned one. But my love affair with the breed has been going on since the 60s........and I wanted to tell you that your breed information pages are the best I've ever seen on ANY breed.............you've told the truth about the breed, with no white-washing..........I couldn't let the day end without thanking you for your wonderful website. HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?Our site is being constructed as a high quality content site so that it serves the needs of people and ranks very highly with the major search engines such as Google. When someone searches for information about Great Pyrs, they quite often find us on the first or second page of the results for that search. That is a very good place to be. With 1000 visitors per month looking for information and finding us, we can provide information of value in the care of the breed we love to a wide audience.
SO WHAT’S THE POINT?Collectively, members of our club have hundreds of years of experience with Great Pyrs. That experience comes from breeders, pet owners, veterinary doctors, trainers, and owners of working livestock guardians. And it does not matter if you are a new owner or a seasoned veteran with Great Pyrs. There is a unique experience to share no matter what. Imagine the value of that experience to a visitor to our site? You have real experience with a Great Pyr. We need your contribution. WHAT’S IN IT FOR THE CLUB?Our club is dedicated to the well being of Great Pyrs and to assisting Great Pyr Owners to provide the best care possible for their dogs. Our web site provides the opportunity to extend that service well beyond Southern Ontario to anyone worldwide who reaches us through the web. With great content that provides real value, our site will continue to attract more visitors. And all of those visitors provide opportunities for our club to generate additional revenue to support the work it does to benefit all members. Your site provides the means to help others and generate revenue in return. “HOW CAN I HELP?” You say.Quite simply… tell us what you would like to see on the site. More importantly... Contribute an article or two about your Great Pyr experience. Write a piece about training or grooming or carting or other activities that you enjoy with your dog, or anything else you would like to write about. Anything you know or have experienced about you Great Pyr has the potential to be of value to someone somewhere.
New Pyr owners have a million questions. It would be great to share that point of view with other new Pyr owners. Experienced Pyr owners know so much that they take for granted and assume that everyone else knows. There is great value in those years of experience. And we can share it if you dare! All of this information is of value. All of it is worth money to the club. All of it can benefit other Great Pyr owners world wide. Do you enjoy your Club's site? This is your opportunity to contribute to it. This is your opportunity to contribute to the well being of the breed you love. Simply stated… we are asking for your help in making this a world-class site about Great Pyrs. You will notice throughout your site, a growing number of places where Members and visitors can contribute content directly to the site. Current examples include the Great Pyr Books Page and the Great Pyr Ownership Page. Not only do we invite Members and visitors to submit content, but we also encourage Members and visitors to comment on what has already been published by others. These are opportunities where Club Members can really add value. Why not take a minute to add content of your own? You can post pictures and/or text. Or make a comment or answer a question asked by a visitor. It is all here for you. WHY NOT START RIGHT HERE?
