I don't know if anyone has answered you.

It would depend on how much he rubs his face. Is is a lot?

He obviously is itchy. My girl scratches the same place all the time but probably once a day or so. I don't worry about it since I've looked at the area and nothing seems astray.

My girl used to scrape herself along the ground she was so itchy. Vet put her on prednizone which only masks the issue and doesn't get to the problem.

I took her off kibble and feed her raw. She now eats and her itching has gone. You might try turning to raw. People get scared at first but it gets to be second nature. There are more recalls on kibble for salmonella.
