I have never been in a situation that would require my Pyr to defend me but I've been shown that they would. Over the last 35 years I have had the honor and privilege of living with a total of 5 Prys over the years as a MEMBER of the family. No doubt they are the best! Our Belle was always willing to save us from monsters; motor cycles; and big trucks....but always a gentle giant to humans and our farm animals.
