Adopt Male Siblings

by April

We are thinking about adopting 2 boys from the same liter. Is this a good idea or is it best to just have one as a family pet? I am thinking it would be nice for the other one to have a playmate. He won't be lacking cause we are always home and have 4 kids. I just don't want to make a mistake and have them not get along.

It might work out but you would be best to find a female to adopt if you want two dogs.

Also, adopting two at the same time would be double the work and your have four kids so you would have your hands full since positive-reinforcement training does take time.

Make sure you crate-train your pup since that is where they need to be to stay safe when you aren't home. Leave them no more than one hour per their age e.g, 2 months - two hours at the most, 3 months - 3 hours at the most, etc. At night they can hold it a little longer but if they cry, take them right outside.

You didn't ask about the rest but thought I would offer it.

Enjoy your pup(s)!
