age

My great pyr just passed away she was 2 months shy of her 9 yr birthday. (she was an owner surrender so can't be so sure on age) But at least 9.. PERFECT health. The day before & the morning of. Running smiling doing typical great pyr stuff. Came home from work she was gone. Looked like she just fell asleep sitting up, not even laying down. Guess my question is, is 9 yrs old to young to pass from natural causes?

Natural Causes
by: Donna

I'm so sorry on your loss, Sharyll. What a shock for you.

Pyrs life span can be from 10 years to 13 or 14 years old. Yes, they have been known to die earlier just like people.

9 isn't too young to die from natural causes, in my opinion.

She obviously had a good life with you. I could only think heart attack but perhaps that's a discussion you can have with your vet.

My Beau was about the same age when the lost him under very similar conditions. We found out he had a growth under his heart that just blew up (while in the vets office no less). My heart is heavy for you loss.Remember all the love she gave you and the good things. I know it don't help right now. God bless you and help you through.
