Anakin

I take Anakin out on walks every other night and tonight was no different. We typically hit the streets no later than 7pm to make it back in by 8:30pm. Unfortunately, we got off to a late start due to some graduation parties, so we finished up at 9:30pm. 2/3 of the way, I decide that my music was boring and I was searching for a new channel on sirius.

The park I take Anakin walking has a path that's no less than 20' wide, and it gets dark in the evening. Since I had my headset on, I didn't see these two young adults coming right at me.

I'm walking down the middle of the path and these two young men had all the room in the world to avoid me. Hindsight, I think they may have been after my phone or some other unfavourable thought.

It was dark but my Anakin lunged at the boys when they were 6' or so running right at me. He must have grazed them but they ran off as quick as they were coming at me. Thanks to Anakin, all was good and he got some special treats when we made it home. Luv that dog!

He did exactly what he was supposed to do. Good boy. Treat them with respect and trust and you get back ten-fold in return.

Just some advice even though you didn't ask. Take off the headphones. Make the walk about you and Anakin. Enjoy the walk together. Leave your headphone for when Anakin is having his nap.

This story makes me so happy! My pyr has not even been born yet! Litter is due on the 18th. And I have been utilizing all of this time to undergo large amounts of research. It seems that your sweet guy fits right into that guardian role. Thank you of sharing. Reading all of these stories is both educational and fun! :)
