DOB: December 3, 2022

Location: Mulmur, Ontario

Breed: Pyr x Great Dane

Single family home where he will be part of an active family.

A very large securely fenced-in yard.

No children.

Yes to another dog, but it must be female. And, proper introductions are required as always.

Hi owner is having to give up Tux as Tux’ father and him fight as two males will do, especially if related. He is the result of a visit by the female to the owner of Tux’ father. Remember it only takes seconds for a breeding to happen.

This big beautiful boy gets to play on their 110 acre property in Muskoka Lakes when they go there. While in Muskoka, he is off leash with no boundaries. Tux is a 'stick around dog' and always comes when he's called. He is very food motivated, so the call of getting a "cookie" aka treat, is sure to bring him back.

At home in Honeywood, he is in a fenced yard and has never escaped. As for destruction in the home, he has chewed a belt and a boot when he was a puppy.

He does not suffer from separation anxiety. Since being a puppy all I have  to say is "I'll be back", he just goes to sleep.

He has never bitten anyone except Chris trying to break up a fight between him and his dad. (Careful how you break up a dog fight.)

As for people coming on the property, he is cautious at first, and once I tell him it's ok, he is fine.

He hasn't had a lot of interaction with other dogs besides my neighbour's Husky and my daughter's rescue bully cross, both female. He loves them both and is very gentle. (Proper introductions with a female and he should be fine.)

Tux loves being outside but is also very much an indoor boy. He loves his bed (or mine) and would prefer sleeping inside in cold weather.

Tux is also kind of goofy. He still gets the puppy zoomies and loves swimming.

He may need some work on the leash. Susan Garrett has two great podcasts on this. Video #53 and Video #73.

The reason I am seeking a forever home for Tux is I want what's best for him.

The online teaching program Recallers is highly recommended to gain a close connection with your dog, and to have a dog who listens.Trust Technique is also beneficial along with a Trust Technique Practitioner.

If you are interested in meeting Tux, please complete the adoption application at adoption application. The adoption will be directly with the owner.

Adoption contribution: $600
