Lucy

*ADOPTED*

DOB: January 3, 2024

Location: Acton, Ontario

She will need a single-family home with a securely fenced yard of at least 5 feet.

Her owner no longer could care for her. She hasn't been taught anything, but we know she will thrive in her new home given the chance. She is very friendly though, and is good with children.

The online teaching program Recallers is a prerequisite to gain a close connection with your dog, and to learn how to teach your dog in a kind and respectful manner.

The Trust Technique is also beneficial.

If you are interested in meeting Lucy, please complete the adoption application at adoption application.

Adoption contribution: $400

My Pyr "Happy" is King out here in the middle of nowhere. On January 25, 2021 we found him walking up the centerline on Highway 281. We picked him up, brought him home, got rid of the fleas, cockleburs and devil’s claws and we made him our dog. After finding his former owner (who didn’t want him back) we determined he was 8 years old. That makes him 12 now, and his age is showing, although he still chases coyotes all night and sleeps, all day. He has a bit of trouble in his back, quarters. Getting up is a problem sometimes, and I have to help him. I love him. I’ve had a hip replacement and my wife died in March 2023, but Happy has been my mainstay. I’m 71, and am interested in getting another Pyr while I still have Happy. Maybe Happy can show her how to keep the coyotes away around here. Then again, maybe I should look for an older Pyr that needs a home. I’m old myself, and who knows how long I will,be around.
