Aslan my gentle giant!

Aslan

Aslan

I have spoken a year ago about getting my great Pyr Pup, he is still a pup so to speak but not size wise. He is an amazing dog. Tolerant of my son, our 2 Pappilons, and 2 cats. He does not like strangers or dogs he does not know. He is constantly on Guard.

One night a squirrel was up in the roof scratching around and Aslan stood on hind legs barking incessantly for over an hour. It would have been faster for me to crawl up in the roof and scare the squirrel away, although it was funny as heck watching this large dog walking around our home barking at the ceiling. Everywhere the squirrel went there was Aslan on hind legs hopping around barking.

Anyways I will try to post a couple of photos of his year growing up with us!

He is definitely a darlin!

Aslan, how well named!
by: Marianne

Thank you so much for describing a so very typical characteristic of a Great Pyr pup. This is so typical, I laughed myself silly reading your post.

I have had one barking like mad when the International Space Station went overhead. He learned, after a few nights that the Space Station was a recurring event and he has now learned to just bark to tell me that it is visible today and be quiet.

Pyrs are amazing! I learn something every day from my Pyr guys and girls.

So cute
by: HTan

Your Aslan reminds me of my Roman with the freckles around his nose (made his nose look bigger than normal; cuteness overload) & the badger markings on his back... so cute!
