Maybe you could tell us a little more about your dog. How old is she? When did she start doing this? Is she injuring herself? Does she get daily exercise?

That type of information will help you get a better answer.

Talk to vet. Oatmeal shampoo will help. Could be grass allergy. Dermatitis is a thought.

My female GP does this too, she is a year and a half. She gets a good of amount of exercise, nice big backyard for her to run around in with our other dog. She does also chew on her toenails and we trim them often to help prevent her chewing. The chew cracks the toenails sometimes a little bit, but not often. Why do you think she does this?

Diet may be playing a part. Some dogs do not do well on kibble since it is processed and may contain allergens for your dog.

It may also be a reaction to vaccinations if you vaccinate. You might consider joining this Facebook group:
