Coat - residue

whenever my great Pyrenees brush up against me, or when I pet him there is white residue on my hand and pants. what is the cause of this.

I'm not a vet. You may want to visit your vet. If it is dandruff, you might consider changing your dog's diet. Or, is it just dog hair?
