Diet - Prefers Goat Food

I got my Great Pyrenees about 2 months ago, and I decieed hat it was time for her to go in the same pen as my goats. She has been doing fine, but tonight when I was putting the feed out for the goats she ran over there and starting eating on it. Then, every time the goats got near the food to eat , she wouldn’t let them. She barked and chased them off. This is weird behavior for her. What does this mean and what should I do to stop her?

Eating Goats' Food
by: Donna

Have you been training her to the goats until you left her with them?

That is, kept her on leash with you when working with the goats and then penned in and around them but not along with them when you aren't there?

Try feeding her when you feed the goats. She must be hungry and also doesn't understand the protocol, yet.

Keep her on leash with you when you feed the goats and don't allow her near them until they are done and feed her away from the goats. Do this until she understands that the goats are allowed to eat and she can have her dinner at the same time.
