Eating as guardian livestock dogs in mountains

by Ottis George
(Atlanta, GA)

I saw a doc on tv about the Pyrenees from puppies to adults. It said they spend their days guarding the sheep but made no mention about their food as to what they eat during this period of time.

Eating
by: Donna

Yes, they eat. They are not left totally alone with the sheep.

There are shepherds who are there who look after the dogs and sheep. They are fed, watered daily and groomed. They would not survive without food and water. They ensure that the dogs are healthy and no injuries have occurred to them.

As to what they eat depends on each shepherd or farmer.

They are fed corn
by: Anonymous

Have a cousin who had great Pyrenees and all they fed it was corn, what sheep are fed. They were told this before the got the dog.

She got very angry with me when I gave he poor uncared for dog a large bone with meat on it.

Why is no one stopping this? Looking into it?
