Eyes - Colour around the eyes

My lovely wife and Daisy at 12 wks.
Our puppy Daisy is a pure white pyr. White eyelashes,solid white beautiful and so intelligent it is sometimes surprising. Anyway, around her eyes is has turned a dark kind of charcoal or blackish color where it was white. I don't know if this is normal or nature's way to cut down on snow reflection.
