Feeding my pyr , I need Guidance

by Nadia
(Repentigny)

My pyr is almost 9 years old, what kind of food, should I give her...She was always on vet or good commercial dog food. I was thinking of Science Diet mature giant race or Maxi 8+ by Royal canin, but Royal canin has by product and Science diet ??? Also there is the Hill's® Ideal Balance™
Large Breed Natural Chicken & Brown Rice Recipe Mature Adult this one seems the best! What would you recommend??? I am really trying to find the best for her..she had last year formation of crystals in the urine. Thank you...

Feeding a senior
by: Marianne

Since I feed raw, I am not familiar with brands. My recommendations is to look at the ingredients, choose the one that is grain free, with the best meat, fowl, and or fish protein with fruit and vegetables. you can't really go wrong with that.
However, I suspect she might be slowing down a bit so you might like to give her some glucosamine supplements, some vitamin E and occasionally some vitamin C.

Good luck with your senior girl and give her a hug from us.
