Name: Flocon
DOB: Approx. Jan. 26, 2025 (don’t know for sure) rescued Jan. 2026
Location: Acton, Ontario
Good with dogs, cats and people. Not sure how he is with children.
Detached single dwelling home with a securely fenced yard of at least 5 feet full of a real garden or grass (under the snow). He may even do well on a hobby farm once allowed to adjust to his new life.
This beauty is a 1-year-old male Great Pyrenees He was rescued from a backyard breeder where he was neglected.
We are looking for an experienced Pyr person who understands the need for a dog to decompress and not expose them to anything but the backyard for business and the house until they settle in. They need to learn about you and you about them. He needs to get used to his environment in order to set him up for success.
He is very sweet and gentle and loves other dogs and cats. He hasn't experienced much as BYB dogs do not. He was living in a barn with an outdoor enclosure.
He doesn't know how to walk on a leash, and will freeze with fear. This is something you can help him with, as well as getting him used to what life should be like for any pet. The Trust Technique will do wonders if you choose that route.
He is adapting well to indoor life, but everything is new to him. He was terrified at the SPCA kennel as it is very noisy. As a result, he was stressed and didn't eat much.
We recommend the online teaching program Recallers or Home School the Dog and/or the Trust Technique to gain an incredible connection with your dog to set him up for success.
Note that these photos are from the SPCA. Once we get new ones of him well-groomed, we will load those up.
