Great Pyrenees Rescue Luna

Luna has found her forever home. THis was her story...

3 year old female, spayed and vaccinated

Luna was dropped off at a local pound by her previous owner. She had such bad skin condition and had no fur on half of her body. It appears she has food allergies, and we suspect chicken and some grains. After only a few months on fish kibble with no grains, her skin was not irritated and her fur has fully grown back.

Because of her special condition, food intake must be watched carefully, as it took only 1 week of commercial treats for symptoms to return (red rashes and intense scratching), but that doesn’t mean she cannot have any. She has been very happy with natural treats such as fruits, vegetables and even little pieces of pita bread.

Luna is a beautiful and very affectionate girl, with calm temperament and good manners. She is house trained, quiet and not at all excitable. She is good with kids, and other dogs, but no cats or any small critters, as she can get very obsessed with chasing them. She responds well to her name when called, is easy to walk on leash and is a fast learner. She learned in a couple of tried to sit, lie down and give her paws.

Do you want to receive the love that this amazing girl has to offer you?

Luna

My big Luna bear!
by: Anonymous

She has been an absolute joy. Guards at night and sleeps during the day. When walked, I call her my cloud as she walks like a cloud.

Never seen such a calm, affectionate, beautiful spirited dog. So dog friendly and child friendly.

Yes a counter grazer but each day there are such progress. After all she's our Luna Bear.

We are now making her a little bilingual and trying to teach her English as well. But we speak French too. Like Faire Pee Pee Tout suit! Luna . C'estt un Bon chien. Couche. Arret.

Spelling awful but you get it. Or she does! Lol never had a bilingual dog before.

Luna...a month later
by: Haley Randall

Luna continues to do extremely well in her home. I have a hard time getting a hold of my mom (Luna's Mommy) these days as she is so engaged with Luna's day to day activities. She has many dog friends to play with. Timber is her Berner Brother and High Top is another rescue that comes to visit her each day so they can run, and run, and run, and run.

She is spoiled rotten and in return, she spoils my parents. I really wasn't sure if the love for my parents could run as deep with a new fur baby since losing their beloved Lab last summer. However, Luna has done it. She is their best friend to the end and has much more love and laughs to give!! In true Pyr fashion, she is LOVING the -25 degree weather we have had in the past week! My folks try to bring her in from the yard and she will have nothing to do with it.

PS. She is still a counter grazer and even enjoys grilled cheese off my son's plate LOL. Hey...who doesn't love grilled cheese! --they are still working on this!
