by Shirley Treanor
(Oklahoma City, Oklahoma USA)

My Pyrenees (she will be 10 next month) has 2 spots on her tail that the hair has fallen out or she has pulled it out. But it doesn't seem to be growing back. I was wondering what to do to get the hair to grow back please help?

The folical son
by: Ed A from NJ

This is pretty simple if the hair was broke it will grow back of the hair folical was pulled out or damaged the hair is gone for good. Just like a man going bald, no folical no hair.

Could be allergies or fungus
by: Nashville

My lab mix would have this happen. In warmer weather it was a fungus/ allergy combination. He got allergy shots for almost a year and before that, they tried to change his food (grain free) and steroid shots.

Hair Loss on Tail
by: Donna

I would recommend you take your dog to the vet to determine the reason for this.

You are concerned. You need to have anything that could be happening discounted.

It could be any number of things and it's best for your vet to assess it.

Or, it could be nothing but for your ease of mind, it's important that you take your senior to the vet.
