My husband and I have had many dogs over the years, and all of them have added to our family's emotional life in their own way. So, we thought we had seen it all...but that was before our first Pyrenees graced our lives with his enormous "presence". This dog's ability to create pure joy knows no bounds. I can well imagine the beautiful Gus had much the same effect on the folks at the Farmers Market, on his regal stroll through the crowds. Ours has much the same effect on people.
So we tend to take our dogs with us everywhere. Our Pyr Gabriel and his canine Bernese pal Patches. If we don't, my husband gets sent back home to go fetch them! But its the Pyr with his giant welcoming smile, that people most respond to. He's an extremely sociable creature, an extrovert and, he especially craves the attention of children. He gives so much joy and leaves everyone with a smile and a personal story of meeting the giant white dog. We get the questions and we're happy to answer them too. But the very best thing about taking him out and about is the joy he leaves in his wake.
Makes us wonder, what did we ever do without a Pyr? And why did we wait so long to have one? Happiness truly is a Great Pyrenees.

I have had a Great Pyrenees for the last 34 yrs. Not a “working” dog except in my home. Trust them with my life and I too, would do anything for them.
