Happy

We found Happy walking up the centerline of Hwy 281 in Kansas. He looked depressed—walking slowly—like a hobo in search of a meal. He was covered in fleas. His beautiful hair was full of cockle burrs and he had a devil’s claw wrapped around his tail that had been there for years. I stopped the truck, got out and asked him what he was doing. He looked at me with his big brown eyes, walked over to me and shoved his big head into my knee. At that moment I knew he was our dog. We took him to the vet and had him treated for fleas and checked for a microchip. Then we took him home. On January 31, 2023 he will have been here for two years.
