Heaving breathing in pups

Sleeping babies

My husband and I recently lost our American Pitbull terrier to cancer when I came across an ad for Great Pyrenees/Border Collie mixed puppies. We brought two home last week at 8 weeks old over the last week I have noticed that they tend to breathe heavy even in the house or at rest. Is this normal for the breed? I don’t remember our American Pitbull terrier breathing heavy when she was a puppy.

Thank you for your advice

It would do your pups an injustice to do an online diagnosis, Kristin. Reputable breeders will be able to answer all your questions. If you are very concerned, do make an appointment with your vet.

Note that you do have mixes so to determine if it is a trait of a either breed would be difficult to determine.

Here is some information on breathing in dogs. There is a section on puppies.

Yes always check with ur vet.The.prys we have had do have breathing that seem heavy. So much so that they rock as they sleep . It can scare you as you watch and afraid something wrong
It may be hard to find a vet that knows this type dog. They just seem to be general advice. Good luck lot of learning coming
