At 8 weeks old, Ellie (my Pyr) was eating about 2.5-3 cups a day (estimated). At that age, it is best to free feed as it helps teach the dogs to self regulate. As they start growing and getting bigger, they will be hungrier and this is when we need to be sure not to over-feed. There are lots of charts, etc. pending on the food you are feeding (hopefully a giant breed puppy food) that help you to measure and estimate a healthy amount. Remember, it is also good for your puppy to be eating about 3 times a day right now! :)

Feeding puppy

The breeder should be helping you on this. They know the size of the parents and will know approximately what the adult weight will be of your dog.

In feeding raw, feed 2%-3% of their ultimate adult weight.
