How to introduct an aggressive pyr to members of the family

My son is moving back from college. We've found this dog roaming the streets and has apparently been very mistreated in the past. He was very beat up when we'd found him around Christmas time. He now feels like we are his family and he is extremely aggressive. Last week I've had him neutered to hopefully calm him down. Out of fear that he will attack my son, because he growls profusely while peering at my son through a glass door, I'd like to know how to make other people part of the pack that my pyr wants to protect.
