Every SINGLE dog show my pyr gets brought to i get asked by the crowd "is that a big golden retriver ??" Once in an actual dog show the judge had to ask me my dogs breed, i was appalled!

I was stopped by woman that said they were Chihuahas.. newf, saint, golden, berner I can understand but a Chi? ha. People have no clue about breeds so don't be surprised if one day someone asks if it's a Husky...gotten that too.

What is it?

I have a 3-year old shelter adoptee who has been ID'd as a Great Pyrannees and Golden Retriever mix. He looks all Pyranees except for faint tinted round spots of Golden color on his legs, and a somewhat narrower face. (He looks a lot like the rescue dog at the top of this page).

Yet everyone who looks at him never IDs him as Golden--though they don't ID the Pyranees part either!
