Lips - Dry

by Patrice
(Florida)

We just rescued a 5 year old Great Pyrenees. He has been rubbing the bottom of his jowells on rugs etc. Tonight I noticed he has a dry piece of jowell hanging down. Is this normal? What should we do about it?

It sounds like he is itchy and has scratchy so much he has torn the skin. You need to get to the source of the itch and get him well, again.

It sounds like allergies which can be a result of a poor diet and/or over vaccination.

oral health?
by: Anonymous

Have a vet check your dogs oral health, too.
He could have something stuck between his teeth, a chipped and/or decaying tooth or inflamed gums.
If your dog is a chewer just about anything could cause this.
