My Pryns is 90 LBS is she pure bread

by Raphaella

We rescued our girl from a shelter. She looks small for a Pyr. She has the double dew claws. Could she be a mix if she has the double dew claw?

vood things come in all packages
by: Ed A from NJ

The last thing that would tell you if your dog is a pure great Pyrenees is size or weight. That even varies from kennel club to kennel club and by AKC standard for a female your little girl is with in weight size for a girl. While double dew claws are a good indicated it is not a sire sign of purity. I would tell you go to the breed standard on these pages and see how the head shape and over all match to the other standards match. You can be a little forgiving because she is not a show dog and pet quality can vary a bit. I think you will find she is a Pyrenees . But what I hope you find in the end is a loving family member.

Purebred?
by: Donna

She is only purebred if she came with registration papers from a recognized kennel club. Perhaps she has a tattoo in her ear? That would let you know for certain.

90 pounds is a good weight for a female.

As Ed says, even if she isn't full Pyr, as long as she has a good home with you, that's all that matters.
