Never shave a double-coated dog
by: Donna

Never shave a double-coated dog. You need to keep up with regular grooming with a slicker brush and comb at least once a week.

Dogs needs their coats to stay cool in summer and warm in winter. If don't want to groom, consider a single coated dog. Or, take your dog to a master groomer on a regular basis.

Once you shave them, their coats are never the same. People also find their dogs are absolutely upset about losing their coats.

If your dog doesn't like to be groomed, you need to start slowly so he does like to be groomed. This video will help you work with your dog on animal husbandry. Nail trims, grooming and more
