New puppy

I have an 8 week old great pyrenees/great bernese cross, he seems to be paning and hot all the time and drinking a lot of water is this normal?

Best thing to do is take your pup to your vet. Only a vet can tell you if this is health related.
Panting and drinking excessively may not mean your pup is overheated. The pup may have an underlying condition that would need treatment.
If he is found to be healthy, has been wormed, has had his puppy shots then direct your thoughts to these things: food (did you change the type or brand), over-stimulation (pups need their own crate for secure quiet times), do you check if his bowel movements are regular (after his meals) and not runny? It also takes time for your pup to be able to regulate his own body temperature. Make sure he gets lots of rest in a cool, quiet, secure spot. He's in a new situation without his mom or his siblings for comfort and security. Give him time.
Good luck.
