Night time

Always wants to come in after doing his business but just recently he comes to porch curls and lays down, ignoring me somewhat not wanting to come in at midnight and 2am?

Why is he doing this?

You don't say the age of your dog. If he is young, he is starting to mature, and do what Pyrs do. That is watching out for predators during the night. That is what they do in their real lives as guardian dogs. They are nocturnal.

I take it you are a night owl? Going for a walk once before bed should do him for the night unless he has a UTI or diarrhoea. Take him out on leash if he has to go so he can't do that.

Here is a wonderful podcast on getting your pup to sleep all night.

I would recommend signing up for some training so that he holds more value for you than for being outside as well. Here is an excellent program called Home School the Dog.

Absolutely she is correct. Pry pets.(not guarding flock) guard us.My male does same . Female is more of a snuggle buddy. I'm so glad to see questions about pet prys than typical guard prys.we need more of this thread.
