Nordic and Dolly

Nordic

Nordic

A local person found Nordic, Dolly, their siblings and mom running in and out of traffic in -40 C this winter in a remote area on the highway an hour north of me. I went out that night to look for the rest, after hearing about them, but was unsuccessful. We did connect with the farmer who was feeding the mom who showed up as a stray and offered to help. The mom and other siblings did make it home safe and are also being rehomed.

The women who stopped and saved the three puppies called me to ask if I could foster two and she would foster one. I am taking steps to mitigate sibling syndrome. They spend time apart and I have three adult dogs they are bonding well with as well. While they were initially very scared and shell shocked, they have since come out of their shells alot with tons of treats. They now run over to play and cuddle with us. I've decided to keep the male, who I've named Nordic and unless I find a safe home for Dolly with a fenced area, then I will keep her as well.

They are amazing, they house trained in 8 days, with only one accident after 8 days and now are again at day 12 having no accidents inside. I have never had such intelligent puppies. They are so sweet and affectonate and chill very well. I will be bringing them to puppy classes sepearetly. I love them so much. We live on 15 acres and are fencing it in for them (we will do chunks at one time vs. the whole 12 acres in one go to make it economical). We have the set up to seperate them as needed if fights become an issue in adulthood but so far they do well being seperated from each other and are calm when apart.
