Pyrenees want to smell everyone's breath

My dog is obsessed with smelling people's breath. She doesn't smell butts like most dogs do. Do you know why this is?

Smell
by: Donna

Dogs have extremely keen senses of smell. They understand more about you from smelling your breath than your bum.

Smelling someone's bum is just unwanted behaviour.

Human breath
by: Pyrenees

Two reasons a dog may wish to smell your breath:

1. It is a sign of submission when a dog smells or licks your mouth. Common pack behavior.

2. Dogs communicate with scent. They can tell if you're sick by the smell of your breath, or what you have eaten recently. It's only to tell what happened and if you're okay. They want to be sure they're doing their job right.
