Sense of Smell

I know that the Blood hound is number one as a scent dog and the Basset Hound is number two. Can you please tell me how well can a GRT PYR smell in comparison with the two breeds mentioned? I know they see very well from owning two PYRS...

This is kind of like comparing apples and oranges. For a scent hound, his nose is his number one tool. For a Pyr, his eyesight is his number one tool. It would be like asking can a blood hound (with those droopy eyes and baggy skin) see as well as a Pyr (with eyes perfectly placed within the skull for that 'mile long' Pyr gaze). Both dogs have been bred to do a particular job for their humans. Each with their own particular 'best attribute'.
