She won't let me closer than 10'

I have a wonderful Great Pyr female about 4 years old who looks after my goats on a big farm, all free ranging. She will not let me closer than about 10 ft and never has. Her coat is a mess and I want to give her shots, but ... Any advice?

Have you tried her with some good food like cheese, meat, anything enticing? Make it so the only way she gets her dinner(s) and good stuff is by following this trail to you. Talk nicely to her. She won't come to you the first day but has to learn to trust you.

Try that daily a couple of times a day and with persistence, she should eventually recognize you are someone who only means good for her. This may take some time and patience but it should work.

She needs to be socialized with you and this should have been done right from day one with you.
