Shedding

Why does my 12 month old shed sooo much? We have to brush her at least 2 times a day. Our whole house must be cleaned everyday, everything has fur on it. We have other dogs and I've never seen this amount of shedding. She's fed Blue Buffalo natural, she gets a scoop of coconut oil to keep her healthy.

seasonal sheders
by: Ed A from NJ

I can tell you what I have found with my two Pyrenees. Usually the blow there coats twice a year with a heavier coat coming in the beginning of winter and then lose their winter coat in the spring for a lighter summer coat. However this year they seem to be shedding more then normal. My thought is that since they shed by season the problem is that in Jersey the weather has been crazy with temps shifting by over 20 degree from one day to the next it is making it hard for the natural transition to happen causing for more shedding then normal. I think as spring comes and the weather gets more consistent they will finally settle down and their summer coat will settle in. This of course is just my thoughts but what I can tell you is my two are shedding much more this year then years past. I am within 20 miles of your location. I hope this helps.
