Sleep pooping

Our Great Pyrenees is 8.5 years, male 110 lbs. Arthritis in left hip & right knee, as well as less severe in spine and other joints. What might be the reason he frequently leaves droppings when he sleeps?

Take your dog to the vet for a checkup if you haven't already. I suspect you must have him on pain meds.

This is young to be so arthritic.

It sounds like he is losing control of his spincter muscle. Your vet will better be able to explain everything to you.
