Swimmers
by: Donna

Like many breeds, some Pyrs do and some don't. They have double coats so it can be difficult for them to swim. Their coats will weigh them down once water is able to penetrate their coat.

The big swimming breeds have webbed feet, Pyrs don't.

Some Pyrs just like to wade into their tummies to cool off.

My Great Pyrs hates swimming! She is deathly afraid of the water and absolutely refuses to get in the pool. But she loves a bath! Go figure😃

My Pyr has webbed feet? Do I not have a true Great Pyr? Oh well, I love her either way!

Kiddie pool
by: Anonymous

We bought a small plastic kiddie pool when the weather got very hot. She loves to splash around in it, we throw her tennis ball in and it keeps her busy and cool.

Loves water
by: Anonymous

My Great Pyrenees mix loves water so much that she jumps in my bathtub (with or without me in it). She’s 8 months old and a NUT!! We love her but have to lock her out of bathroom when we bathe!

Ours does

Our 10 year old Pry female Rosie LOVES water!! She also loves rolling around in dirt but snow is by far her favorite thing to roll around in. We live in KY so sadly there's not much snow for her.
