tail hair loss?

by LisaBeth

My male pyr just turned a year old at the beginning of January. After his last grooming appointment a few weeks ago I noticed that he looked like he lost a ton of hair from his hind quarters and his big full tail doesn't look full any longer - it just is there and looks straggly if that makes sense. Is it normal for them to go through this around a year old? My female is 9 months and still has her big full beautiful tail it's just so odd to me to have his no longer look like that. He is eating and playing etc normally. Any thoughts?

Tail hair loss
by: Gandalf

I noticed my 9 year old pyrenean lost fur on his tail, then he began to get blotches on his skin on his back and body.

My vet tested him for Cushions disease and he is now on beautiful for the rest of his life.

He is much better now with more life and his fur has grown back spectacularly. I had not realized how much his beautiful coat had gone dull.

If it is not treated it becomes very serious and they can lose all their coat an become very propelled. It can be fatal.

I hope this helps.
