Teddy

by Eleanor Humphreys
(Peterborough on)

Teddy was a rescue in 2007. He was found wandering along a highway near Bellville. He was emciated , had lost most of his hair and weighed about 80lbs.he had bilateral dislocated knees and torn ligaments. His age was estimated to be approximately 2yyrs. I picked Teddy up for the Great Pyr. Rescue and fostered him. He had both his knees operated on and the ligaments repaired. He gained weight till he reached 102lbs.. He then went on a weight control diet to maintain his weight. He was on Metacam from the time I got him as he had advanced arthritis. I also put him on Glucosamine. He did very well till this last year when he started to have mobility issues in his hind legs. The last few weeks it became very bad and his left knee was swollen. His vet felt it might be cancer. We tried Tramodol for a week with no improvement so he was euthanized on St. Patrick's Day. He was a wonderful dog and very spoiled. We were sad to lose him. Eleanor Humphreys

So sorry
by: Ed A from NJ

It sounds like you did all you could for teddy and gave him the best life you could for as long as you could. I was lucky enough to have had wonderful relationships with all my Pyrenees but I can still respect you for all you did for teddy. I wish I could tell you it gets easier, for me it never does even now when I think of Beau or buttercup a tear still comes to my eyes, Though all the memories are good ones I think the fact that there will be no ,ore is the problem I have. While Maximoose (my new 5 year old Pyrenees rescue)and Nava my 9 month old Newfoundland (now in training to be my service dog) are both making great new memories I have learned you keep the space in your heart open for your past loves and grow new space for your new loves. when you feel your heart making room find you new love til then take the time you need to make piece with the memories you have.Good luck
