Walking a worker

Is it ok to take a working dog for walks outside their fenced perimeter or would that encourage them to stray off. Or to take them in the car with you to town?
Or are they best left to be with the flock all the time.

The world

I don't see why not. They need to get a new look out on the world. Of course, take them to town in the car. They need to get used to the car and enjoy it for those times they may need a vet although, I suspect, a vet comes to your farm. But, it's a nice change for them.

The working dogs need a break. If it's much livestock to look after, two dogs minimum are needed so one dog can take a break, anyways. It all depends on how many predators are out there, and how big the land is, how many hills and how many animals they look after as to how many dogs you need.

Would you want to be on the job 24/7?
