All your research will tell you that Pyrs wander. It's in their DNA. Man bred them to wander with their livestock and watch over them without human intervention. They are independent thinkers. Respect that.

You need to microchip your dog, first. Next, make sure you have secure fencing of at least 5 feet. No tie outs as they cannot watch over their territory properly and it's undignified. No invisible fencing since they are quite capable of escaping from it. Some will be shocked and not ever want to return into their yard.
