Great Pyrenees shaking head back-and-forth when she wakes up.

Great Pyrenees shaking head back-and-forth when she wakes up. Our great pier in knees has started shaking her head back-and-forth obsessively over the last week or two. We looked at her ears and don't see anything. Could this be some type of seizure?

I would recommend you take her to the vet to have her checked out. Perhaps she has an ear infection. Or, it could be anything and your vet is best fit to find out what the problem is.

Best of luck.

My st. Bernard and my great Pyrenees both did it. They both have the exact same ears and we went to the vet and was given an ear wash to use weekly. Clears it up super quick and if I forget to use it and they start shaking back to the earwash. Not unusual for dogs with those ears so don't worry, it's an easy fix.

Response to my great peer any's shaking her head back-and-forth

Thank you so much. We did take her to the vet immediately after reading about possible signs of epilepsy. She did indeed have a pretty bad inner ear infection. Now we know. And we are using their momentum Max and the ear flush. Thank you so much for your quick response.

Take a napkin or a couple of tissues and lightly clean their ears out . They tend to god nand bury their bones . Their ear canals go down so you will not hurt them . Yeti loves it when Liz cleans his ears
